I recently archived my grandfather’s entire slide film collection, spanning nearly 50 years of life. The joy I experienced seeing members of my family at different times of their life was remarkable. And I was reminded how important it is to have photographs of moments in each of our lives to look back to.
Behind the camera, I work with an empathetic eye to see the subjects, the instant, the gestures that resonate. The photograph doesn’t show the time I spent to understand what you want. That, the most important part, is what is felt. Good photographs don’t just happen, they are made and require effort.
